    Hello guys!
I am writing my Thesis, and I came across a book which talked about the "german manual for warfare against bands" during WW2. It would be really helpfull if I would have this manual. Does anyone know where I can find it?

    I would be really grateful!

This would be the best I could find for free. German Antiguerrilla Operations in the Balkans (1941-1944) But it's not the manual.

Thanks. I think its wierd that the manual can only be bought at 1 website. Don't you guys think that is strange? How do I know if it is legit?

    Greetings Remy,

The US Army made a whole series on German Forces’ WWII Lessons Learned during the late 40s & early 50s. They had access to captured German Generals with much experience on the Easter Front and with the cold war frosting up there was a renewed vigor to capture that experience in print. The idea was to help American Officers gain some doctrinal insight from the Germans' experiences. There's at least ten tittles/manuals that were created in this series, if not more.

I would suggest you determine what the relevant US Army manual's nomenclature is and try searching for a copy on eBay or Abe books. While no doubt the original German texts may be available, I doubt they will be affordable or online for free.

    Regards,

    Lance

    Hi Remy,

I think what you are looking for is called: "Kampfanweisung für die Bandenbekämpfung im Osten" (1941)

I dont have a copy, but I have a NARA document outlining the difference between the old guidelines for 1941 and the new ones from 44, if you are interested, just drop me a PM.

    Cheers, Mads
