Hello,
No, unfortunately the book should not be reprinted.
I'm currently working on an English translation of my latest book released in French only last summer.
It will be an extended version including all material removed by the publishing house because of the size of the book and some new stuff that i did not join to the book in the first place, still because of its size...
Thanks

Hello,
If everything goes according to my plan, the next book will be an extended version of what has been released last summer, including a short history of the Wehrmacht Heer, uniforms, footwear, general issue equipment, specialist and function equipment, awards & medals, shoulderstraps & rank insignia, specialist & function insignia, official ID papers and some "reenacting" with models wearing original stuff (of course) : like a 21. Panzerdivision MG team in Normandie, 15. Panzergrenadier-Division supply team in Italy, 2111. Panzergrenadierregiment member in Lorraine, The conventional Infanterist, a dismounted Reiter and some more. The book is dedicated only to EMs & NCOs, no Officer stuff. And only combat stuff, no parade or walking out...
As i'm fed up to deal with publishing houses, fed up having stuff deleted or added to my work without my permission by guys who certainly know their business but know nothing about the german army, what is important and what is not.....fed up to see them make some big money while they give me peanuts, i decided to get rid of them for my next book. I think i'll open a subscription sometimes this year in order to help me with all the costs (designer, printing, photos). Subscribers will get a 25% discount on the book. And if i don't get enough subscriptions or don't win the lottery, it will be all over as i'm not gonna work nights after nights, weekends after weekends for 8% of the sale price of the book via a publishing house. I do it for my pleasure, yes, but also to make some money for the collection.
Thanks

That is the trouble with publishers, they can - and do ruin good work by trying to make it 'better' than the author intended. The financial rewards for writing ANY military book are so small as to make you wonder if it is all worth the effort you have to put in with research. It is usually just a labour of love.
Cheers,
Steve
Hello,
Ruin is the right word. In my last work, within the Heer history chapter, i had included a colour photo that i took on purpose to explain the roots of the TR german army. The caption was one of the most inspirational texts that i have ever wrote regarding the german army, referring to the old prussian army from before 1871, to the Grenadierregiment, explaining traditions, Waffenfarben....the all thing has been trashed, as simple as that...they chose a photo from their archives and wrote a s... caption.
Yeah, ruin is the right word....and i would have more to say, but it's useless.
Thanks

Its a good job that you don't like collecting them... otherwise you might be overrun by them!

Steve
