Military career of one SS soldier
Hello Gents!
One of my friend is leaving here in Paris.
His grandfather was a German soldier serving during WWII.
He was in the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler, 9/1 Pz.- Gren.-Rgt.
During the Normandy battle, he was captured and placed in a POW camp in L’Aigle.
After the war, he stayed in France and established a family, in the Falaise pocket.
He died some years ago and never spoke of his career.
My friend would like to know the military career of his parent. Is it possible ?
One of the papers of this man.

In terms of his actual military career details tell him to contact WASt and provide them with enough details to enable them to search their records... Deutsche Dienststelle (WASt)
But for a 'narrative' of what his Regiment and division did during the war then there is a history of Leibstandarte by Rudolf Lehmann which runs to 5 volumes (4 actual volumes with the 4th being split into Parts 1 & 2).

There is one problem : my friend don't speak German, English, so I make this for him. Next week, I see him to have the EK2 paper and the other.
Many thanks...
Michel
