.... as I am intrigued by the role Aleister Crowley (known as both Frater Perdurabo and The Great Beast 666) is alleged to have played in the 1941 flight of Rudolf Hess. Hess was a member of the Thule Society (Thule Gesellschaft), a right-wing völkisch occult-mystical organisation which most likely had contacts with Crowley through Dietrich Eckart who was supposedly a student of Crowley's. Along with Hitler, Dietrich Eckart was one of the early key members of the Nazi Party and Eckart was involved with the Thule Society, although apparently not a member.

There was a TV show on American history channel about the Thule society and other occult nazi connections . It was a good watch , i can't remember the name . If i remember I'll post it for you . Maybe "the nazi occult conspiracy "

It was called 'Occult History of the Third Reich', not a bad series (4 part) but alot of unsupported facts and conjecture. I take it all with a large grain of salt and a keen eye towards the sensationalist nature of such productions.

I have just gone ahead and purchased The Occult Roots of Nazism: Secret Aryan Cults and Their Influence on Nazi Ideology by prof. Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke, at least he was a respected academic on the subject. Am also considering Unknown Sources: National Socialism and the Occult which he co-authored with Hans Thomas—if there isn't too much overlap with The Occult Roots of Nazism.
