In addition, if I am not mistaken, there were two types of eagles used in the Third Reich, the Wehrmacht addler (eagle) with the wings spread outward and the Reichsaddler with the wings vertical and close to the body. There may have been exceptions to this and I am not sure of my source (memory at my age is very bad), but I believe the above is true. I think the Germanic eagles are the best looking ever produced by any nation. The WWI variety are not bad either.
