Please guys see if you can help me with my reseach? It all has to do with my mother Gizella Toth.

I have been told that an Uncle of mine was a rear gunner on a ME110 on the Russian Front? His name was Toth also and my Grandfather was a bodyguard to France Josef?
Also another Uuncle was a sergeant major in the SS. I have no idea where to start with looking for this family history? If anyone can be of help i realy would be greatful
especialy any thinng to do with Gizella.

Hi Ian, the reference to Franz Joseph will date back to pre WW1. He was the Austro-Hungarian Emperor.

To find out any family history you will need to write to the German authorities. They will need as much detail as possible, with stuff like dates of birth, deaths, etc.

The main site for requesting German records is the Deutsches Dienststelle. You can do a request but do not expect full records unless you are family member.

my uncle who was in the luftwafe survived the war i met him when i was about 13
my uncle who was in the ss died in the war i believe
my grand father was gased during the first world war but sevived
i didnt manage to meet him he died before i was born
but he is a bit famouse in the family becouse he was so close to france josefe
my uncle hwo was in the ss is not much spocen about
as im sure you can understand
im told he was a sgt maj in the 1st panzer ss ?
he was a hungarian by the name of toth
and he was on tanks so mabe some one here can track him down
funny thing evry time i try to find anything to do with the name of toth i hit brick walls no one seems to want to tell me any thing
i do know that i had another uncle who was in the police in hungary and he was involved in rounding up the jues in budapest
as im sure you understand the family finds that hard to deal with
his name was michle arki
mabe some one could find some thing about him
