    Default SSS Horst Wessel/USCGC Eagle - From German WWII Trainer to Flagship of USCG

    A very interesting BBC feature posted earlier today regarding the history of the SSS Horst Wessel, the German tall ship used as a Segelschulschiff (Sailing Ship Trainer) during WWII, that later became the flagship of the US Coast Guard. The video featured in the link includes a short interview with one old sailor who in 1959, got quite the surprise on his way home from a date.
