WOW! Are the 'people that need to know', so to speak, aware of the existence of this piece? I'm amazed it's still there, and more importantly, it's a significant historical piece of the war on the home front that needs preserving, not rotting away in a wood somewhere in Essex.

It's on land owned by Essex County Council, they know it's there, trouble is it's so far in the forest it wouldn't be feasible to get it out.

I reckon a quad and trailer with a few blokes would handle the job. I'm familiar with the motor, there's a couple of them down the road from me at Cosford where I used to do a bit.

Just had a quick look around at these rocket motors in Essex, and it appears there's no shortage of them!
There are several on display at local museums and heritage sites whilst others seem to be lying on beaches around the coast and pulled up by fishing boats every so often, as well as others recovered from fields and such by various historical and metal detecting groups. Remarkable really, who'd of thought it!

Just been reading up on the incident where a V2 hit a Cinema in Antwerp on 16/9/44 killing 250 Allied servicemen including US Navy personel.
The launch of the V2's from the Dutch launch sites was one of the reasons Ike gave the go ahead for OMG !!

will be in Essex soon. Can you send me by email the place to see the motor parts you mention. Is it still there. Is there some gps location.
Like walking in forest and will be great conclusion after the effort to see such part.
