    Hi Matt

    Yes Helmuth's English was quite good in his letters to me, but the combination of both languages allowed for better descriptions and humor also. He had a great well rounded personality and was very humble too...
    He had a couple friends from the 5th Pz Regt DAK that were very helpful too.

    By the way, in the link you posted with his photo it says that he looks like Harry Potter.
    I would say that he looks more like the actor Gregory Itzin from "24"
