An interesting photo of Max Buschel, a SS-Kriegsberichter, of 1.SS Panzer-Division LAH, from August 1943, Italy.
Note his SS "palm" smock has been modified to fit a zipper and the sleeves have been shortened. Buschel took many of the iconic photos of LAH during the "Battle of the Bulge".

The Palmenmuster (palm pattern) smock was widely used as can be seen in several of these photos.
