I remember drinking some of that whilst in Bosnia in '95 God almighty, I can still taste it now!! Yuk!

I agree that it would be whatever was around. A lot of alcohol certainly, but they didnt really understand the effects of staying "hydrated". They issued Salt Tablets to the Marines in the Pacific and that was not exactly the best way to go. I happen to know that when my Uncle was in France/Luxembourg he said he drink a lot of wine. Even when he was wounded, he said he drank Scotch when he was being transported to the Hospital.
