Nice piece,I would love to have one just like it as my Great Grandfather served in the Russo-Japanese war in the Russian Imperial Army as a Pole.

Thats a very interestin story Emil.. It´s a very interesting pic indeed and the frame seems to be at least almost period made. The picture came to me ´from a Russian guy who is now settling down near Helsinki, God only knows were he got the picture from.

Got the picture today and its totally amazing, the colors are much darker than on the photo. The Arisaka bayos show up well in the hands of the Japanese (to the right). I´m a happy man

Kanji, is what the written Japanese language is called, in Japan.

My sister speaks, reads, and writes it.

Personally, I can't tell the difference between Japanese Kanji, and Chinese Mandarin when written, but I also never really studied it either.
