    Default Soviet/ German Police armband?

I quite like this armband as a thing in itself but have no idea if a genuine 1945 occupation period item or anything about it all really

Any thoughts as to authenticity or photos of this type of armband being worn? What does the Russian lower text mean?

Thank you for the trabslation and photo Dom, do you know where in Germany it was taken?

I believe the armband I have just purchased says "forst verwaltung" but the first word is hidden in the photo.....so "Forest management". I wonder why there was a need for forest management police?

I think it's Berlin , for your second question, you should ask to Germans collectors
they certainly know the administration management can be identical during and after war ?

The German term "Verwaltung" can be translated as "management" in certain contexts, but in the vast majority of cases, it is better translated as "administration".

While I admittedly don't speak Russian, an online dictionary tells me that "Police Headquarters" translates into "управление полиции" in Russian.

Perhaps this was an armband for personnel assigned to the local police headquarters?

(Are you sure it says "Forstverwaltung"? The term "Forstverwaltung" exists, but this means "Forest Administration" or "Forestry Commission"; I can't see a police connection there. Then again, I am not familiar with the structures of the security forces in the immediate post-war era, when much was of an improvised and temporary nature.)

I think you're right about Berlin, I'm sure i've seen a photo of a cop in a ruined street in Berlin wearing a very similar armband!...

    Hi,
    translation would be 'administration'.
ATainst a friend by Ukrainian think writing is not consistent, and it may be that it is Belarusian.
    Regards.
