Re the 1st pattern handle designation, it's probably best to say that the nickel finished handle common to all 1st pattern knives was carried over to early 2nd pattern production knives, of which yours is a nice example. A good honest looking knife Mike. Thanks for sharing it with us. Are you certain the are no MOD Inspectorate of Stores markings either on the handle near the cross guard, or on the cross guard itself? Some of these acceptance stamps were very lightly applied.
