    From what I've read, these were the last of the war time produced knives.
    My add happens to be from 1953 however I believe that they were being sold
    by other firms before that.

    I know that there are most definitely war time produced knives
    that were stamped "England" and shipped to the US. This
    is proven by the many second pattern knives that we see that are
    import stamped. If my memory is correct, the knurled handled second
    pattern knife stopped being being made in 1942.

    Even some of the 2nd pattern Wilkinson FS knives were marked "England".
