Fairbairn-Sykes dagger

Article about: hi guys i beleive this as a good wartime commando dagger but i would like to make sure as a few opinions is better it has a mark on the handle like /I with a 2 below it, it looks like a bad

    looking foward to seeing the pics
    there were a lot of diferent fs manufacturers so its dificult to say what the exact blade length should be
    im sure Ade or others would be able to sort that one out for us ,cheers ian

    hi ian heres the best i could do for now mate also blade is 6,3/4 inches

    yes i believe the tip has been re shaped after damage ,,its to round and blunt
    it should be a very sharp point , but that makes no diference to what it is ,it a wonderfull dagger be proud of it ,cheers ian

    cheers for the comments ian, who knows when it was done, thats me just clicking on to what you were meaning a few posts back yes i would agree it looks worn down and as you say in its hay day it would have had a needle sharp point

    oh and theres no file or sharpning marks up the blade edges and this things still really sharp a well made piece of kit that will out last us!

    No.9 Army Commando were formed from troops under the command of the Scottish District. Google No.9 Commando and you will find a wealth of information.With regards to blade length they varied from 7inches to 6.5. I agree with the others that your knife appears to have the point re shaped after damage. Having said that it is a super knife. John.

    hi john thanks for the info mate it came from the family here in scotland the old boy was also royal scots, steve wouldnt be a problem mate if we had a bill and ted phonebox in the collection seems to be a vice of many here on the forum? must be the stress this hobby brings
