    Who cares! It is a great example. Worth more than a few weeks wages now.

    Being serious, these are the second type. The first having a larger 3 inch crossguard.

    A very nice example!
    Appears to have a replacement retaining strap made for it, as far as I know they had an elastic originally.

    Actually the two inch crossguard on the first model F-S is correct, the knife above is a first model F-S. The three inch crossguard has been deemed real by Ron Flook in his book, he says "the three inch variation is real but it is unfortunately a variation that has been messed up with problem of fakes" Some say the three inch crossguard was a special order later on in the war.
