US postwar import

Article about: Hi folks sniffing around this, after a little research here i believe this to be ww2 period made but surplus and shipped out to the US post war is this correct.

    Hi folks sniffing around this, after a little research here i believe this to be ww2 period made but surplus and shipped out to the US post war is this correct.

    You are correct. It's a early 3rd pattern with the England import stamp.
    I say early because it has the thicker hand ground blade that was discontinued
    later in the war for thinner blades to save cost and speed production. You can
    see this from the small V grind on the blade where it meets the cross guard.

    I am concerned about the sheath. I think it is a lot newer than the knife.
