Fallschirmjäger in action, period photo
A nice atmospheric photo of some fallschirmjäger getting ready for action somewhere in a semi tropical environment, splinter smocks, tropical trousers,
and single decal M38's in use, I don't know the location, but taking a guess, ... possibly Sicily perhaps ???

Is this a Gran Sasso photo perhaps ?

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Looks like the first one has leather MP pouch? Great pic.
You could be right Paul, the type of uniform being worn is correct for about that time frame.

It looks like it may be after any action has taken place too, looking at the photo again, they appear to be taking their helmets off,
with one FJ putting a side cap/overseas cap on.
Another interesting photo, with some very interesting bandolier variations....
The 2 guys in the middle have rifle grenade bandoleers on. One of the few photos you'll see of this item.
Indeed. A rare bit of kit.

I think Italy is a good bet based on the scenery and that 1 Falschirmjaeger Korps were in Italy '44/'45.
Not sure about the "after action" idea as they do look a bit clean and not as ragged/sweaty as one would expect!
Just a thought, could the chap in the 2nd pic on the right with the cine camera be a known KB?
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
I would doubt it since he is also carrying an FG 42. Doesn't seem a likely combination.
Para helmets were easy to find once upon a time...
