    Hi all,

    Thanks for reply.

I found this helmet last week in a farm, He was suspended on a rusty nail and he coast me NONE.

It is exact that the liner is turn 1/4 circle and in the front is sewed a cloth roll.

The owner of the farm say his father use the helmet as motorcycle helmet after the war. The helmet was ever in this configuration, he had change anything.

The inner was hard and crackely, I clean it with a laether soap and make it supple with a lanoline cream. The exterior is just cleaned with an light oily cloth.

    Regards.
    Carfin.

    Hi all,

OK guys apparently this helmet is not a "normal" helmet.

    I dont believe the story:

"I" was in the farm, "I" have the discussion with the farmer.
The farmer GIVE ME THE HELMET.

I dont anterstand why he made a copy and ask ZERO euros for this.

    Where is the interest?

    Regards.
    Carfin.

I understand your point of view, but i also understand the guy`s opinions.
But as far as i know, there were several things that were made in a diferent way at some point.
There are lots of items, that were made by diferent makers and therefore, afecting quality and detail.
There could always be some item that we have never seen before?
I have seen things in this forum, that some members imediatly classified as fake, just because they have never seen that before.
I have seen comments saying, " If the helmet doesnt have a decal, its fake". We all know the germans stoped putting decals, to make detection more dificult.
    Just my opinion.
    Cheers.

    as i said before
look at the alignment of the rear bolts
german manufacuring is presice to the micron
it was and still is they are a nation of perfectionists
the best acurate machining country in the world bar none
so as sutch the out of line rear bolts dont make sence
it would not / coud not fit with there psycy
i and i dont believe any other has ever seen an original fj lid or any other lid were the machining and or manufacturing process
has been alowed to become so improsice
    its just not german

Posting small crappy pictures don't help this helmet's case either.

This helmet is not good. Maybe he gave it to you for free because he didn´t want a fake helmet.
