    Looks like wasted money for me but it says a lot about the post war period IMO . my grandfather used stahlhelmets to feed the cows, and my other grandfather stole tons of tires from left vehicles north of dunkerque It was a good bussiness he said.

    i think it is a field mod - kuchen ersatz stahlhelm used only by elite paratroopers to strain the pasta for the chicken soup
    Looking for following WWII German items:
    - anything dealing with Allenstein (Olsztyn) and Wehrkreis I in East Prussia,
    - entrenching tool carrier (straight and folding),
    - forestry and hunting items,
