A restored relic ( see the pitting on the inside all painted over? )
The mottled finish is possibly a smear of auto body filler to fill in the pitting as well.

Personnally I would save that money up till I can afford an complete FJ. It will take some time till you have that kind of money but it's worth it...
It will give you more satisfaction eventually. That's just my opinion.

I like it a lot. I posted mine and is HORRIBLE compared to this. So... there you go. I would have payed that money for a better looking lid - original. I know I cannot afford a complete one. ...
