Trust us. The Shell is bad.

First, for starters the rolled edge is wrong.

Second the fonts on the numbers are wrong.

and I have only rudimentary knowledge of these helmets and it is plain as day.

Finally, Terry is one of the foremost experts on M38's. So if he says its bad. No need to look further. He literally WROTE one of the first book on these

Another thing. If that is a decal. It would be UNDER the camo. Not over the camo. But no matter. The shell is fake to begin with so everything else thus is bad.

As far as your other question "if you don''t know how they did get it older".

Fake camo helmets in some cases have now reached a level where top quality reproductions can fool 99% of the people and only in hand examination can tease out the details. And faking age has been mastered as well. Baking, burning, acid wash, etc. etc. etc.
