Here is one I picked at Max show 1989-90. Bought from the Vet with full provenance. Cost me a "Whopping" $1700. I remember two guys standing there watching me pay the $1700 for it & one said "Who the hell would pay $1700 for a German helmet ?" I looked at him & said "I would". To me, not because I owned it, is the most beautiful example I ever saw. Actually, it is four color

Twenty years later, I sold it for $17K... I know who owns it..would love to buy it back...but retirement prevents me from going there.

WOW! David that one beauty of a helmet. I'm wondering if $17k would even buy it back today? And of course fantastic photograhs for reference. Just a stunning example. Kindest regards.

Thanks Brian. Was my "Flagship" helmet for many years. When I sold my collection in 1999 to buy a house, this I kept. Then about 6 years later, I thought it needed some companionship such as a "Bookend". So I bought another FJ...then the disease, addiction took off.

When I sold this in 2010...they were in that price category. Not anymore. At this stage, the owner would have to settle for quite a bit less in todays market. So my timing was right

Honestly that has to be the mother of them all. How that camo pattern and texture remained in that condition, that many years is remarkable! And for all conversations/debates that had taken place on here over the years about toning of a heer decal vs the gold kreigsmarine decal, could have been put to rest by looking at this gem as an example. Really I'm blown away by that helmet, not trying to increase the separation anxiety/depression you must feel looking at it buddy. Better to have loved and lost i guess. But quite a nice profit to ease the pain. Thanks for showing it.

I would sell my wife before I sold this helmet (Do NOT tell her I ever said that!)

Or have a photo of this in my office instead of my wife...LoL

There really isn't much to say. Stunning.

Hi G, Thanks. Was going to post a thread titled "Ones you lost & wish you had them back". But figured too depressing.

Did you find your LS helmet last night ?

I had a minty M1917A1 Kelly helmet that I stored at my parents years ago. That disappeared....Think the nephews played it and lost it.
