There is nothing wrong with this badge.

It's a perfectly original Osang type 'D' all zinc die cast example with integral hinge and catch, even the typical flat topped rivets are plated zinc, and the ones here show nice wear that demonstrates just that. There are several other indicators that make this original, the fat left arm of the swastika, the maker mark, the sharply bevelled hand finishing on the reverse and small details in both the eagle and wreath. No problems here, buy with confidence.

    Regards, Ned.

Many thanks for your input! Was told be at least two local collectors that it was not even a good reproduction .......

Incidentally - what would be a good, honest offer for me to make on it?

Values and prices are not discussed on the forum, it's subjective and therefore up to you to do some research of similar zinc (in this case) badges via dealers sites. For a collector to collector sale, a rough guide is to knock 30-40% off dealer prices.

    Regards, Ned.

Hi, looks like a nice award, Osang are one of the most heavily faked awards, but Ned studies hard and if he if comfortable with this one then I would be confident that it is all correct and trust his appraisal rather than the "local collectors". They may just be trying to put you off so they can have a run at it themselves anyway!! Leon.
