Here are my end results from the "scale and polish"! I would never normaly think of doing this but I felt it was worth while getting the "dirt" off to see a clear image. These are taken through a x10 loop. Leon.

It is very very hard to spot the right production time of some S&L pieces.There is often no final proof to get and many things are speculation.

When you read some discussions,for example in other int. forums you can often find different opinons under the experts.

I personaly like both badges in this thread.Both badges are made with a very good quality.

These are like the Souval badges, some were made before May 1945, some after. How can you tell when a particular badge was made?

Absolutly right Adrian!

Ore for example the Bandenkampfabzeichen who is attributed to S&L.The one guys are believing they are very late war badges.And the other guys are believing they are made post war.What is right?There is no last proof!

It is how so often a question of believing.

Ok I got this pin with a Afrika cuff title for $220 in a recent auction so I'm happy.

I would say you made a great deal!I give you 250,-Euro for the Fallschirmschützenabzeichen when you are not lucky with it.I like it very much.

I read at the moment Tom`s book about the Fallschirmschützenabzeichen to get the informations about Toms work with the S&L para badges in my head.

I think you have a Cupal eagle badge (A Type in Toms book).I can not speak for Tom of course,but i think in Toms book is it added to the wartime badges.

I think the para badge of Fallschirmjäger is for sure also a wartime badge.

But please remember,a last proof is often not to get.This Hobby is so often very controversial!I wish you much fun with the para badge.It`s a very nice badge imo and the Cupal eagle have a great look!
