I have always liked this badge, the eagle looks so mean.
Very nice.

Splendent badge, HD! Thanks for showing.

Love the sharp detail, the look in the eye and the menacing pose of the Adler. Its almost saying "Watch out! I'm coming for you!"
This is a great example of how detailed the Third Reich period awards were. Fantastic, thanks for sharing it with us all HD...and well done on adding an outstanding example to your collection.

Carl

Great looking original badge Mark and in superb condition too, thank you for posting.
Can post a pic of the catch please? The dark area around it looks out of place with the rest of the badge?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Very nice! Can i ask is the partial ghosting of the makers mark common? Stewy
Congratulations! Beautiful second pattern (J2) Juncker Para badge HD1450 (I presume you are a biker too?) I have both the Pilot and the Observer of this model/maker "in the oven" pending final payment (they arent cheap!) but as soon as they fly home I'll start looking for one of these and the matching AG/WO
To answer Stewy; ghosting (double punched), mispunching or uneven marks (weak in spots) and even no mark at all are not that uncommon considering its a secondary and manual process for some makers (including Juncker). Makers with marks built into their dies (GWL, Assman pieces with "A DRMG" relief marks on the wreath etc) had much more "textbox" marks because they were made at the same time as the parts with heavy presses instead of hand held punches on (still cooling) components
very nice pics, well done on a great purchase
Thanks for the nice comments chaps , but unfortunately the catch has been repaired so it is going back too it's former owner
