Sascha, what are the measurements of the wide buckle? I wonder what they used that one for? A first for me
Ben
A first for me too Ben! WOW: I've never seen that larger buckle before. It has the "stepped" sides found on the 1847 models....Interesting to see the single solder on these as well!
Very cool!
Rob
Very specialised and very interesting, although perhaps a genre not fully appreciated within the collecting community. Rather like Rob, the single solder spot caught my eye.
Right in thinking that the oversize buckles were worn with a fabric "belt", rather than a leather strap ?

David
Thanks for your opinions. The measurements are 7,4 cm x 6,7 cm and I got this buckle with a belt from Weimar-era 4,4 cm. The belt have some marking, anreadably, .../A.R.26 and a single B. There is a old group photo at my fire department, maybe 1925, and the guys wear this larger buckles. I´ll make a pic of this.

Sascha
Hallo Sascha! I would love to see that picture! I look forward to it!
Danke!
Rob
Sascha
nice Feuerwehr buckles. My few will follow soon.
Cheers
Thomas
Hello guys,
here some pics from the veterans. The pics have a bad quality but you can see the larger buckles.
Best,
Sascha
Many thanks Sascha and as you suggest, the oversize buckles can be easily seen.
The veteran who is wearing the cross strap (and is it a circular leaders type buckle ?) looks interesting because of his buckle !

David
