Article about: Hi gents! It is a TR period a buckle, maybe blacksmith? but What think you? Looks original german buckle IMO, but what era, maybe pre war or post war made it? Thank you! Sandor

    Definitely for blacksmiths. The anvil, hammer and tongs are the symbols for this trade (although the hammer and tongs are normally depicted as crossed - rather than side by side - above the anvil).

    I cannot comment on age.

    It does not seem to be a German produced item.
    During the TR they used a different symbol and
    surely the method of manufacturing was quite
    different.
