Default Brown K98 bayonet Frog, or black worn off?

Did they have brown bayonet frogs? This frog looks very brown, but maybe because the black has worn off with use and time? Back is marked "HAMBURG 1938" Any advice or answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Looking for:

    1) A court mounted EKII
    2) M42 of no collector value, bare steel if possible. Liner and liner bands not needed.

Hmmm, OK. I suppose there is no way to tell a Luftwaffe used frog from any other branch?

IMHO it's a brown friog darkened by age to lool like a worn-off black one!Check it thoroughly to see if you can find any LBA markings!
