Default 1938 Telephone Cable Hand Spool

    Hi,

Here is my new 1938 dated hand held cable spool.

Made by Wittig & Schwabe, Langfeld im Erzgebirge.

The paint appears to be original as there is no traces of overpaint unless it was completely stripped and repainted.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks !

And they go so well with FF33's

Correction, this is not for field phone cable. It is for radio or pioneer cable. I have done a lot of study on the subject and this hand reel is often confused as a piece of telephone equipment. Attached are two photos. One shows the Aufspuler and Abspuler devices for field phone cable with a proper 17.5 cm reel. The other photo is a period illustration of radio antenna construction tools including the cable dispenser for setting up antennas. NH

I totally agree..this spool..although nothing spectacular to look at...had played great roles in destroying buildings , bridges and strongholds. I historical piece of equipment that has " Been There " Regards Larry
