Well guys my pouches arrived today, not a matching pair and not the same year but they look good together

Equipment so far, all period apart from the gas canister strap which is BW but on the lookout for an original. Modelled by Mrs E and yes she has a nice pair of tits before you ask

I am not sure but I think at some point all German equipment was brown and an order came out to colour/dye them black. the same happened with the belts until they started issuing them black. I suppose the brown was the pre war equipment

Ok I'm just trying to learn something here on the colors.
I thought Brown was Luftwaffe and the Black was for the other armed forces of Germany.

I think MP44Tom still may have some original gas mask canister straps. Looking good so far.
