Guys, check your local Aussie Disposals I found this one today at my local for $30, I passed off a British one 1944 as I have enough of them - also these haven't been East German re issued/modified

Rene,
Very nice find. I'm used to the jerry cans with the rectangular center. Where these "X" cans used for fuel or water?
One more ? Where these the same size?

one of my East German modified for a comparison- Also a Aussie Disposals find years back
Hi René, what a great find.
This style of pressing to the can is the earlier version.
Cheers, Ade.

G'day Guys,
I've checked my two local stores and I did grab a British 44 can for a mate, the rest I saw are ADF 95 & Swedish 50's dated cans, good luck on your locals as I believe there are more Kraut one's out there!
As Ade has put a nice early X can , Must have had a interesting life
There are none at Dandenong or Frankston, just a lot of East German and Swedish...earliest date was 1988
