Re: Bit of field kit, Ruck sack, Y straps LW Valice
Hi Jock, these are all great finds.
I like the stamps to the Luftwaffe bag. Nice to research.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Bit of field kit, Ruck sack, Y straps LW Valice
Hi Jock, I don't sorry, but I will have a go at looking up the units.
The stamps are a bit blurred. KG2??? Can you type out the wording into this thread please?
Cheers, Ade.

Ade.
I will type them as they appear with ? for figures/letters which I can't make out.
5.St./KG252 the last two might not be?
Fl. H. Kdtr. Liegn?
K. Gr. 11?/153
St.11
Cheers

Re: Bit of field kit, Ruck sack, Y straps LW Valice
Hi Jock, thanks. What with the blurred out markings this is going to be very hit and miss, but here we go, some of them are pre war:
5th Staffle/Kampfgeschwader 252
Kampfgeschwader 252
Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur is an airfield defence unit. The last word we cannot make out will be the place name.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Bit of field kit, Ruck sack, Y straps LW Valice
Ade,
I was under the impression these were for flying personnel so they could move there uniform around easily? Pre war no problem but unit marks during the war must have been an oversight on security? I also thought they were private purchase items but the leather is also marked and it looks to be issue?
The big zip is Rapid and the two smaller Ri-Ri, with the pess studs 'Stocko'.
Thanks
Jock

Re: Bit of field kit, Ruck sack, Y straps LW Valice
Hi Jock, no they kept marking stuff up during the very early war years.
It is an issue bag. The hardware is from the usual well known makers.
Cheers, Ade.
