Can openers

Hey mates

I've stumbled across these can openers, 2 of them Columbus and one Record but have no other information on them. I know Hewel and Sieger are the core line but these do not ring a bell of being commonly used by the Heer as can openers for the Landsers.

Does someone have any other info on them ?

Field kitchen use? ..... too big for a soldat to carry in his brotbeutel.

Nah mate. Sieger can opener was owned by Landers too and its the same dimension as these.

Fair enough ..... its just the empty fish cans i see about are quite hacked open as if it was done with a bayo or similar small folding opener.

Emig Militaria has/had a few different ones on offer...I recall "Elite" being the brand on some of them...I posted a thread on it earlier this year...

As I promised
I have six Dosenöffner - 2 x SIEGER, EMINENT, ROYAL, FACKELMANN, MEISTER. Waiting for another one to arrive - COLUMBUS. But I highly doubt they are pre-war/war time. On the Internet, you can find a lot about the sale of various models, but nothing about their history...
