These are quite rough, and missing their eye
cups. KM binos should have an eagle over
a capitol letter 'M'.........
-
Hi Steve
Thank you for your info, so the missing K should indicate Kriegs Marine ?
Yes the cups are missing, but I got the cheap for 20 Euro, I think the Price was OK regarding the the condition of the binoculares. :-)
Regards
John

Great price - plus the cups could always be replaced.
Any KM binos I have seen always had an 'Eagle
over M' marking. Where did you you find
this info on them, John.........?
-
Hi Steve
I found a similar pair on Ebay, all the info might not be correct. Perhaps there has been an Eagle over the Marking M, but I cannot see it on my Photo.
-
Yes, I too looked for more information on the internet,
but all I could find were several from Ebay as well.
There were a few pics of a set on another forum,
and these had a very distinct 'Eagle M' on
the left side.........

Hi John,
these are military binos not naval, you are right the H/6400 does refer to the ranging graticule in the right hand lens, but the m is for metric thread not marine,i can tell you though they were of a batch of 7000 made in December 1934,so definitely saw service with the Wehrmacht in ww2,hope this helps

Hi Flak Bunker
Thank you, great additional info.

You can also tell they are early from the brass used all later binoculars were alu and the later binoculars have the 3 letter code
