Very nice binoculars. My sources say these were made
only in 1938 and 1939 - the center focus version of
the 'Septar' model from the same years.

No reason to believe these were not pressed into
service during WWII - but they were not used
much, being so clean and free of scrapes and
    rough military wear normally seen.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Wow, there's something you don't see everyday. Looks like a correct strap, eyecups and they would be an awesome pair of display glasses.

Zeiss started making these for the high end civilian market in the late thirties and would have at the time cost a small fortune to buy, chances of these being used by the navy though are very slim, as they made a military version of these known as the 7x50 H model, still a collectable binocular in its own right though, nice.

As a rule, center focus is civilian. You may be able to check the serial numbers to see if they were pressed into service. I have a 1937 set of Zeiss 6x30 binoculars that were diverted to the Heer. This was based upon the serial number and some research done by collectors. NH
