It has 2 canvass straps on the outside that look like they had buckles at one time. Two of the compartments on the inside look like they have horsehair or something attached to the wood. Thanks

Thanks, It is a great site for researching German ammo boxes but I couldn't find it there. I don't think it's an ammo box?

Your right not for ammo looks like something that's a little more fragile from the padded section !!
