    I cant identify these letters, but i quickly reply here so you you dont forget that there were an enourmus amount of volunteers in WH from Soviet. So with some luck you may get a identification regarding dialect and what part of soviet the owner belonged to.

    If I am correct then it is a rank and name written in Russian.

    Лейтенант Жекоб = Lieutenant Jakob.

    The German binocular could be reused by a Russian officer with the name Jakob.

    You wrote everything right Asjemenou ,surname just correct... Lieutenant ZhekoV. In other words, the military trophy, as it happens in the war.
