Earlier models do not have the green stripe on the lid or green cross on the microphone insert. Most are marked and dated on the metal insert right next to the mouthpiece resting place. I don't see any such markings. There are numerous other items that often pass without any manufacture marks or dates so this must be the case. NH

The handset cord seems to have been replaced. NH

The cord has had tape wrapped around it some time in the past.

It is a good phone. I have 2 field phones and have had several over the years. They were always inexpensive.

Thank you, yes the phone is all right, I have several but this is the first one I get without nr and year stamp.

Yes it might have been replaced, but it is still the same model as the "original" black one.

These phones were sometimes used by the scandinavian coastal/national "home defence" units until the 80s.

No mistake - a good WWII field phone. Seems to be a bit of mixed parts and that is typical. Can you imagine being responsible for 10 or 20 of these in the field? I imagine that handsets, straps, crank handles and cables all got mixed up at some point. NH

    Hi Neil
Yes you are right, imagine to keep them up and running while there is a an attack or other battle. I have severeal of them, and this one came with an other one with stamp 1939 etc as they normally do. I will post that one later, but it looks like all the other ones.
    Regards
    John
