It's a ff33 telephone spike used with single line connections......

Unfortunately the connections are gone on the spike, but the holster alone is somewhat difficult to find....

    Here a picture of mine

    Thumbs up

By coincidence I've just bought one of these spikes in complete but 'relic' condition for only 9 Euros. It's almost harder to find these than the FF33 itself....

This is an Erdstecker with Ledertasche. It was used to ground single line telephone connections. I have attached three photos including an intact Erdstecker, a close up of the Tasche and a photo from my collection of a GJ small phone squad with a grounded Ff33. NH

Typical German efficiency ( or over engineering ) for something that a bent coathanger would do equally as good a job at .......

Now, now Dan! Actually this little bugger is well designed to get deep into the ground for efficient grounding. You will note the ground stake has holes in that let moist soil inside to make a good ground as well. In a pinch, I'd guess they make a good defensive weapon too! NH
