Default (Swiss?) Gas mask replacement lens tin?

    Gentlemen:

Can you help me to identify this recent purchase? It is a small circular tin, not marked, that contains six gas mask replacement lenses (or anti condensation inserts?) The card container holding the lenses is stamped "18 Okt. 1941." There are also two black metal washers, plus a small folded instruction sheet (one side in German, the other in French). In two of the photos I include a standard replacement lens and packet from a 1941 dated gas mask, to give you a size comparison. The tin and contents are slightly smaller that the standard military replacement lenses. Why the dual language? I'm stumped and would welcome ideas. (It has been suggested in this thread below that this is Swiss, which I think makes a lot of sense, or manufactured for use in some capacity in occupied France ) Gas mask replacement lens tin?Gas mask replacement lens tin?Gas mask replacement lens tin?Gas mask replacement lens tin?Gas mask replacement lens tin?Gas mask replacement lens tin?Gas mask replacement lens tin?.

    John,
I just had a look at my VM40 volks gas mask and the lenses are smaller. The other thought was maybe luftschutz gas mask in occupied France - they must have needed dual language items during the years of occupation.

When you get those goggles in the mail you can test them out to see if they fit!

Yes, that's a possibility for sure. Don't know why I didn't think of that initially!
