I have just bought this gasmask, I dont think it is civilian, could it be wehrmacht. Can anyone perhaps give me more details ?
Gas Mask with stamp inside B 44 59 ebd, and air filter.
There is also a red stamp WaA96 1002 inside the rubber edge with Eagle and swastika,
The rubber is in good condition, and the 2 plastic googles are yellow.
The gasmask is perhaps from 1944

It is a M38 Gasmask in black rubber of which the production started late 1943 as some of its metal parts are painted blue, identifying a mask that includes ferrous parts that may disturb the use of compasses...the filter is the FE41.
