The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
1st July 1916
Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

thank You for the fast answers.
i i've read somewhere that this type of camo is called ''Normandia''.is it fact or myth?the box is from 1937 so little sooner
best regards
-
You're right that it's frequently called 'Normandie' but this is a post-war nickname, due to the colouring being similar to that applied in the field to helmets and armoured vehicles in mid-late 1944.
My own belief - and I could be corrected here - is that ( as ammo crates were re-used many times during the war years ) the lighter colours were oversprayed later in the war.

than You very much for the interesting info

For me its a nice early Pre war ammo box in the original Reichwehr camo . you find quite a few early boxes in this prewar camo
-
Kradman is right - pre-war Reichswehr boxes often had similar camo. Nice original box.
