    Do you mean stick pins for the lapel with miniatures of medals and ribbons etc?

    no , the brass, tin etc strips that went behind the buttons , badges etc to stop getting polish on the uniforms....

    I wasnt aware that the german forces had buttons that needed polishing like our brass buttons and buckles, i thought they used either aluminium or coated with a silver or gold wash or lacquer

    hi mate , we were just wondering thats all, my dads collected german stuff since ww2 , he has not heard of any being used .thought we would just ask here .
