The cover looks ok, so no reason to think this one isn't ok. What does the suspension clip look like? Think civilian Feldfasche were unmarked. Others will know for sure.

Hey BlackCat1982
When you say suspension clip, what exactly do you mean? Because i'm not exactly sure on which part you are referring to?

The part that would attach it to the owner's belt, presumably.

Hi David,
Welcome to the forum. I believe the canteen you posted is authentic and is non-military and likely political or para military.
Here is an old thread that could help: German Canteen

Hello!
I think this canteen is a civilian / tourist. I will explain my idea:
All Wehrmacht canteens should have the manufacturer's abbreviation and the year of military acceptance (HRE 1939).
All NSDAP organization canteens (SA, NSKK, PL, HJ, DJ, BDM, JM, Werkscharen der DAF, аnd Allgemeine SS) also had to have the type of equipment abbreviation, manufacturer's abbreviation, the protective sign of the RZM and the year of their acceptance (early marking - FA4/34, or later - M6/35/38).
The same marking should also have been applied to the cover and leather straps of the canteen.
If any of these markings are missing, then this item is not Wehrmacht or NSDAP.
I apologize for my disgusting English ))
Michael
