HJ.........?
Regards,
Steve.
I have a similar canteen. If not marked on top of the lid, markings could be on the throat of the canteen; you'd have to carefully loosen the leather from the buckle and pull the felt cover down.
Not military but either political or para-military. NH
@weller: Thx, i got it and put off the felt cover. I used a knife for the rusty buttons. But I still cant find any markings. Has anyone an idea, how can i clean the felt cover? It stinks. Lol.
Just kidding of course.... Or..... Maybe.... G
I'd rather be A "RaD Man than a Mad Man "
Often referred to as a Political Canteen, these can be seen being carried by various organizations such as SA, HJ, DJ, Pre-1933 Youth Organizations etc...
These could also be Privately Purchased...
cheers, Glenn
For reference, here is an early 1934. @GOG I've seen the brown felt covers for sale, some real and some repros.
