    Default german field canteen

    Greetings to all

I have a canteen that I cannot for sure identify if this could be a WW II German
field canteen. This item reminds me bit of the Finnish canteens used during the Continuation War.

This canteen has no markings any ware. It has a brown plastic screw cap and there are no markings or patterns on the closing taps from the flask wool.
There is no indication on the flask wool that there has ever been a leather strap
sewn on to it, to secure the drinking cup.

I made the pictures the best I could.

Could I please ask for help to identify this item.

    Thank you

The wool cover, strap and bottle itself seem to be of TR period ones, probably for some civilian organisation. The cap has been seen on some post-war canteens, so the whole thing might be from time period after May 45. It's really hard to say when it comes to such items.
