    Steve, you may well be right! I KNOW this is what it looked like originally...........but I also KNOW it's going to annoy the crap out of me everytime I look at it.
    Kicked the engine over tonight.......and it fired first time - truly amazing piece of engineering. A nice stedy "put-put-put" until you put more revs onto it.
    The colour issue...........that'll be resolved soon.

    Glad to hear you got her going. Those two original colours
    really don't go together !

    All-over 'Luft blue' would be more appropriate.........!

    Keep it as it originally was. Looks a little strange but not too bad. Also it's a rare generator (as we know).

    Pity. He did a good job on the restoration. Seen a few of these DKW genies come out of old farm sales. It's worth a tidy sum now.

    I recently bought similar looking generator, 1943 dated, the generator part is cast iron rather than aluminium - I am guessing due to wartime shortages
