German? Holster - Any Ideas?

I picked up this holster a while back in a lot with a number of more recent commercial pistol/revolver holsters. Its construction appears very German to me with the exception of the use of canvas, although there is at least one German holster using canvas (Femaru 37M). The canvas is coarse and feels period to me. Does anyone know what country this is from and/or what pistol it is for. I did try a bunch of pistols in it a while ago but have forgotten which ones fit. It is for a medium frame pistol, like a Beretta 1934 size.

Could it be Polish or French? Perhaps captured and re-issued? You also may get more answers in the firearms section?

I used to have a Nambu (Japanese) pistol that had a canvas holster, but that was nearly 50 years ago. I don't remember what it looked like, now...

Could be Polish or French, the leather on the muzzle end is not very indicative of German holsters.

The Japanese Type 94 pistol did have a canvas holster but it is a bit different than this one.
